A personal journey that helped shape
the mission behind
IV Vitamin Therapy Clinic.
My Story
My journey with non-Hodgkin’s B-cell lymphoma is one of the deepest reasons IV Vitamin Therapy Clinic exists today.
Before I ever faced cancer myself, I had already seen supportive IV nutrient therapy used by patients in the clinic. I had also closely followed the work of Dr. Hugh Riordan and Riordan Clinic, a nonprofit organization based in Wichita, Kansas, known for its longstanding work in research, education, and integrative oncology. Their published work and clinical experience with high-dose IV vitamin C helped influence part of the supportive wellness approach we studied and adapted in our clinic.
I first began having symptoms when I was 28 years old. I went to nine different doctors, but despite what I was experiencing, I was not given the imaging I felt I needed because I was told I looked too healthy. I was given X-rays, but I continued telling doctors that my brother had recently had blood cancer and that I was having concerning symptoms, including night sweats and other signs that something was wrong.
My brother is an OB/GYN, so he was not in a position to write the referral himself. Eventually, we went to the UNLV School of Medicine, where a student took the time to listen carefully to everything that had happened. After hearing my history and examining me, he brought in the attending physician, who recognized my enlarged spleen and sent me for an urgent PET scan.
When the scan came back, it showed a large mass measuring approximately 13 cm by 9 cm beneath my heart. A surgeon went in, but the mass was too close to my heart to safely remove. At that point, because the cancer had also advanced to my liver, the best course of treatment was determined to be chemotherapy.
The disease was aggressive, and I had become so sick that I needed to be hospitalized. Once the biopsy results came back, my medical team felt treatment could not wait, and chemotherapy had to begin immediately that same night.
When I later underwent chemotherapy under the care of my oncology team, it became one of the hardest seasons of my life. Over the course of treatment, I became weaker and weaker, my body was struggling, and my weight dropped from about 160 pounds to 120 pounds.
Throughout that process, I also used supportive IV nutrient therapy, including IV vitamin C, glutathione, and other nutrients, alongside the medical care I was receiving. In my personal experience, IV vitamin C helped support me and my immune system during treatment.
Over approximately six months, one tumor decreased from 13 cm to 4 cm. During the final month of chemotherapy, because I was doing poorly physically and feeling very weak, I began receiving IV vitamin C every other day. My oncologist ordered a PET scan the day before my final round because of how poorly I was doing, and the radiologist notified my oncologist to stop chemotherapy.
At that time, I also had a 3 cm mass on my liver. Rather than starting another different round of chemotherapy, the plan was to monitor it closely. Over the next two years, that mass gradually decreased from 3 cm to 2 cm, then to 1 cm, and eventually to 0.
I have remained in remission ever since.
That journey changed my life forever. It deepened my belief in the importance of supportive care, nutritional support, and treating people with compassion during some of the hardest moments of their lives. It is one of the biggest reasons I built IV Vitamin Therapy Clinic the way I did.
This work is not just business to me. It is personal. I know what it feels like to be scared, exhausted, weak, and searching for hope. I also know how important it is to feel supported and cared for.
For the past 8 years, as part of my personal wellness routine, I have continued maintenance infusions every two weeks with high-dose vitamin C, glutathione, and B-complex.
Why This Matters Today
My experience helped shape the heart behind IV Vitamin Therapy Clinic and strengthened my commitment to compassionate, medically guided wellness support for every patient we serve.
